Global Peace Treaty

P:5Y has begun a worldwide campaign for a Global Peace Treaty (GPT), which is the political anchor for creating peace in five years. Any activities you undertake that lead to support and adoption of the GPT move us all toward our goal.

The GPT repositions peace among the family of nations; provides a practical and user-friendly mechanism for the global practice of world peace; provides an invitation, framework, and infrastructure for collaboration; and provides an exciting political focal point for P:5Y as a rallying point for grassroots activism.

The GPT is similar to the World Trade Organization in that the treaty provides a set of ground rules for international practices of peace safety and agreements on what participating nations must do when violations occur in the world, such as incipient civil wars, incipient genocide, severe oppression, incitement, and so on. The GPT is a set of rules and processes, not a static declaration.

P:5Y will be responsible for drafting the treaty and getting the campaign under way. A key resource we are seeking is partners, such as foundations, to lead the campaign, and experts and dignitaries to endorse it.
