Israel's prime minister has effectively frozen new Jewish construction in east Jerusalem, municipal officials said Monday, reflecting the need to mend a serious rift with the U.S. and get Mideast peace talks back on track.

It was a nine-year-old who, when asked what it will take to have world peace, replied "More Truth." I'm not sure what it says about the rest of us that it took the clairvoyance of someone who hadn't yet started middle school to make such an observation. Because that nine-year-old is right, isn't he? Where we tend to get bogged down in the complexities of world politics, international boundaries, and the vicissitudes of war, ultimately what we peacemakers should seek is that unfettered truth in both its beauty and its ugliness to understand what it will take to end a conflict.    more >>
